About Me

Welcome to my blog and my “About Me” page.

As you can probably tell from my picture I’m a lady of a certain age and have some not inconsiderable experience of life (the good, the bad and the ugly).

As a mum and now a grandma, I’ve always wanted to ensure that my children have the best of every opportunity in life and as such I have endeavoured for the last 25+ years to find something that would help me to make their lives that little bit better and give them a head-start in life.
Unfortunately, despite my best efforts, I never really found what I was looking for and I am fortunate that they have grown up to be strong, independent young men who are finding their own way in life without my having the wealth that I had hoped to make.

I never gave up looking for the “Holy Grail” that would give me the better life I longed for and I must admit that it has taken it’s toll on me in terms of my self-confidence, my belief in there being a better way and my bank balance.

But I am not a quitter and I kept on looking even long after my boys had left home and built lives and families of their own.
Still I never found what I was really looking for until one day last year I read the words of a Chinese saying that goes like this.

” If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap.If you want happiness for a day, go fishing. If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody.”

And Winston Churchill said “We make a living by what we get; we make a life by what we give”

I have always been a natural “giver”.

Psychometric testing when I was in the world of mainstream business (ie. working for someone else!)
always showed me as the “green” person – the carer, the giver, the helpful person who puts others first (although my sister might have disputed that in our childhood days!!)

And it struck me that all these years I have been looking for the wrong thing – ways to help myself first when I should be making use of my natural instinct to help other people.

But how can I do that now at my age??

And from that question, this blog was born (as part of a bigger, long term life-plan)

I wanted to find something, some way of putting my experiences in life to good use whilst motivating myself to improve my own life right now and in doing so help others to improve their lives as well.

I needed to find someone else who had already done this or an opportunity that allowed me to help others and in doing so achieve my own personal goals.

That is not an easy task in this day and age of “me me me”, materialism, inward looking and selfish people and even thieves and scammers.
Sorting the wheat from the chaff hasn’t been easy but one thing my years of getting it wrong have taught me is how to spot the fake and the genuine people out there and I’ve finally got the chance I need to start one last time, with the support of some truly genuine, like minded people who believe that you help yourself best by first helping others.

Part of my journey is this blog where I will (honestly) report on everything I am doing as I start on a new business (yes, I need to make some money too – maybe when I have the fortune of Bill Gates I can be as philanthropic as he is but for now I, like everyone else, have bills to pay).
However, this time I am including other people (YOU) in my journey with the aim of helping you to avoid the same mistakes I have made in the past (& probably will do so along the way here as well), giving you any useful tips, help, advice, information, suggestions, tools and anything else that helps me to reach my goal and in doing so help you to achieve your goals too without it costing you a fortune either financially or emotionally.

And whilst we are on the subject of things financial and emotional, I fully understand how hard it is to be broke and not know where to start to get yourself out of that deep pit of financial sinking sand so everything I do from here on I aim to do on a limited budget.
There are always options in business.
Some things are worth paying for, others you can do on your own if you are prepared to put in time and effort and stick to it consistently.
I will give you all those options so you can choose your own path.
I will tell you which options I choose and why and I will NEVER condemn you for choosing an alternative way.
I will share my personal results with you every step of the way even if it means I have to admit to making mistakes and I will celebrate my successes and achievements however great or small with you.

But above all I want to be here to help you so please ask for help and guidance, post comments, drop me an email and if I can help you I will and if I can’t I will ask people I know who can help.

Let’s start this journey together and let’s all achieve what we want to in life.

Thank you for joining me and I look forward to hearing of your successes and achievements too.

Your friend in life and business.

“Helping to make your world better.”
